5:47PM - Ok, so I am conducting a survey

My landlord wants to sell the house we are currently living in, so he wants to get it all ready and stuff. He has offered to pay our rent for the final three months of our lease if we move to one of two other houses he owns. I havent looked at them yet (I know I have to do that and make sure they are ok), but does this sound like it is worth the hassle? We would have to split up the roomates into a house of 3 and a house of 2 (or a house of 4 and a house of 1, but I doubt that would be the case). I would end up saving $1500 (minus the cost of moving) and be only a couple minutes away from my current house (we would effectively just be moving to the other side of the train tracks). So I want to hear from people, possible negatives I have left out? Anything else I should consider? Post away!

11:30PM - God works in mysterious ways. . .

Gah! My car decided to overheat and stall on 355 tonight while I was working. God must have been looking out for me though because I coasted into a gas station. While I was looking at my car some guy pulled into the gas station to fill up his car. He happened to be a mechanic and a really nice guy. I asked him if he would be willing to quickly take a look at my car to see if he could tell what was wrong. I also offered to pay him for his time. He came over, looked at a few things and determined I was out of anti-freeze. He told me I was in luck because in the parking lot right behind the gas station was an auto-parts store where I could buy exactly what I needed. What are the chances? Just when I thought things were hopeless everything turned out alright. The check engine light is still on, but the car is running fine, so I am going to take it into Jiffy Lube tomorrow and hopefully they will be able to turn the light off. Anyway, I am exhausted now, so off to bed. Back to work tomorrow. Cant wait until my mini-vacation.

10:52AM - Anyone have a car they want to sell me?

I just got a call from the insurance company and they totalled my car. They gave me $6000 and five days to go buy a new car. Just great!

Oh and btw an accident on the beltway today made me 45 mins late for work.

1:30AM - Random quick post before bed

Being told by two beautiful women (Amanda and her roommate Ashley) that I am good looking, nice and have a great personality. Awesome!

Even better though was being told by drunken Hsieh that I was his prettiest friend because a girl actually attempted to pick me up in a bar and that I was better than good people for telling my girlfriend at the time just made my night. :-p

11:06AM - You guessed it, at work. . .

Ok, so now that you have read more than you really cared to know I am going to get back to work. I am probably going over to Gallaudet to hang out with the girls tonight, but should be around Saturday evening. Also, anyone want to hang out and watch the Giants game on Monday night? Let me know.

4:26PM - I am bored at work again

So I am going to update again. :)

Work is going really well. Even better my new teammate starts on Tuesday. Yay! I think my boss is also going to extend an offer to someone who just interviewed. He went to UMD, and I had a class with him and didnt get the best impression of him, but I trust my boss, so I am confident things will work out.

Saw my family last weekend when I moved my sister into school . I hadnt seen them in three months so that was nice. Megan is doing well at school and seems to be making friends. I wish I were back in college (except when I read everyone's away message and it mentions homework).

Been spending a lot of time at Gallaudet. I like hanging out with Amanda and all of her friends are really cool, and many are very exceptionally cute also :-*.

Yesterday Aarti cooked me dinner and she, Julia, and I hung out at her place then saw Four Brothers. Pretty good movie. After I went to Santa Fe with Adam. It was a mob scene. I want my nice quiet Santa Fe of the summer back!

Working all weekend including Labor Day. :( As compensation I get a floating holiday, which basically means I get an extra paid vacation day that I have to use in the next 45 days.

Random observation: I have noticed I spend much of my time surrounded by beautiful women or juvenile delinquents.

Anyway, right now no one is in the office but I cant leave until 5 just in case so I am wasting time. I hope everyone enjoys their 3 day weekend.

Also, if you have not already done so, please donate to the red cross at www.redcross.org. I know many of the people who read this are poor college students, but I know that everyone can spare at least $10. So sacrafice one night @ the bar and go ahead and donate to people who need it much more than we do.

12:07PM - Nothing to do. . .

So I am sitting at work with almost nothing to do. I dont have a car because it is still in the shop so I cant visit any of my kids or go to DJS, I have made all my phone calls, and I am actually ahead on my paperwork. My boss is out to lunch so basically I am sitting here writing this and listening to music. My boss said I could go home early yesterday but I cant do that today because I am on duty tonight so I have to go night tracking. There is a prospective caseworker coming with me tonight so at least I will have someone to talk to, but that isnt for another 5 hours. My boss said I could come in late or go home early tomorrow too, which is good, especially since she isnt gonig to be in the office and neither is the administrative assistant so I am going to be in the office all by myself. I do have two meetings to attend tomorrow and have to visit all my kids at some point, so maybe I can stay out of the office all day and then go home early.

On a personal note, been trying to learn ASL so I dont act completely out of place at Gallaudet when I visit Amanda. Her friends have all been really cool to me and have offered help, so sounds like Ill be visiting a lot. :) Amanda's sign is getting much better too, so I will have a bunch of tutors. Well I guess I should go pretend to do work. I just had a long conversation with some kid's therapist in the middle of writing this, so I have to go do the paperwork that goes along with that conversation. Oh what fun!

8:18PM - Katherine told me I should update

So I am. Work is going pretty well. I am getting prepped for my two coworkers leaving. I am going to be in training for the rest of the week so I get to go into work late and come home early every day except Wednesday because I have to work that night. My softball team hasnt been doing so hot. We lost the last two games after giving up a lot of runs in the first inning. Its a lot of fun though.

Have gone to the Fe a couple of times with Adam. The first time we went I saw my landlord who was drunk beyond recognition. Eventually he came up to me and Adam and handed us some money and told us to buy drinks. I am pretty sure he wont remember that because he was so drunk. Last night the bartender was pretty cool and drunk so we talked with him for a while.

I have been working in the armory this weekend just sitting here and watching DVDs. There is some big basketball tourney going on and they need people to staff the office so I am getting paid to do a whole lot of nothing and sit in the air conditioning.

My life has been pretty boring recently, but that isnt an altogether bad thing. The less excitement at work the greater the chance my kids are actually behaving. Right now I am watching the Simpsons in the office waiting for Family Guy to come on. Chances are I will end up playing poker tonight so hopefully I can end my losing streak.

That is all for now.
